Today is World Environment Day. On this day we focus on the fact that there is only one earth and we should realize that living sustainable is the only viable option for humanity to preserve our nature.
In 2022 we celebrate the 50 year anniversary since the first Stockholm United Nations Conference of Human Environment in which World Environment Day was declared. It also led to the foundation of the United Nations Environment Programme, who are now the proud partners of the Swedish government in hosting World Environment Day.
The day will highlight the need to live in harmony with nature by bringing sustainable transformative changes. Environmental concerns, policies, choices and initiatives from several countries will be showcased that can help us safeguard the finite resources of planet earth.
World Environment Day is a yearly event and has grown to the most influential and famous day for awareness and initiatives for the environment. The public outreach platform will focus itself this year on the triple planetary crises of Climate change, nature loss and pollution. These topics are a reminder that we need to accelerate our actions in protecting the vulnerable climate to achieve the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Let’s make a difference together while we still can!
