Our commitment to the planet is evident in our choice of materials: recycled rubber soles. Unlike traditional rubber production, which contributes to massive deforestation, we repurpose materials, recycled rubber, including shredded sneakers, to create eco-friendly footwear. The production of sneakers has long been synonymous with the exploitation of natural resources, particularly rubber. The extraction of rubber involves the deforestation of precious rainforests, posing a significant threat to our planet's biodiversity. With millions of sneakers churned out every year, the environmental toll is staggering, yet often overlooked. At Komrads, we refuse to turn a blind eye to this issue. At Komrads we use recycled rubber and recycled shoe soles. We believe in minimizing our environmental footprint by eschewing virgin materials and exclusively working with recycled resources. By doing so, we not only reduce waste but also help preserve vital ecosystems like the rainforests. We don't make shoes from recycled tires, there are better ways. How is it made? We actively collect old sneakers, grind them down, and incorporate up to 15% into our soles, together with recycled rubber. Every day, we strive to increase this percentage, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in sustainable footwear. With each pair of Komrads sneakers, you're not just making a fashion statement—you're supporting a movement towards a greener, more responsible future. Join us.
