ReBirth Program
we collect your old Komrads, shred them an turn them into SMOS: Slippers Made Of Sneakers
According to the BBC, only 12% of the materials used for clothing are recycled and 97% of
all sneakers end up in landfills.
For sneakers, the percentage of recycled materials is even smaller than clothing because it’s
more complicated.
Thus, 97% of all sneakers end up in landfills.
The astonishingly big amount of used sneakers that have gone to waste caught our eye. We
couldn’t have a sneaker brand whilst knowing how polluting our industry can be and not do
something about it.
It’s no wonder then that the $3 trillion fashion industry is the second most polluting industry,
just behind oil.

97% of all sneakers end up in landfill
That’s why we’re circular. We want to be able to close the loop and to break free from the polluting cycle. We want our customers to return their shoes when they no longer need
them. When sent back, we will recycle the shoes into a:
SMOS, a Slipper Made Of Sneakers!
This way no materials will be wasted and there will be no emissions in the process. The SMOS itself is also recyclable!
